Remember the last time you needed an extra screw or nut and had to drive to the local hardware store to get it? Amazon is taking a shot at solving this problem. Using your phone’s camera and a new app called “Part Finder”, Amazon can scan a part and identify it for you. You can then order it through the app and get it delivered effortlessly. This app uses computer vision and machine learning to identify the part out of the hundreds of parts the software recognizes. It is yet another step in Amazon growing ambition to replace the traditional brick-and-mortar stores.
